Sunday School and Children's Liturgy

If you have a child aged 5 to 12 years, then please take advantage of these opportunities for our youngest parishioners by participating in our Religious Education program.

Children ages 5(Kindergarden) through 12 gather each week in separate preschool and elementary Religious Education classes after the 10:30 a.m. Mass in the St. Thomas More Center.  Religious Education classes give our parish's children an opportunity to gather together within the larger community to celebrate God.

The Religious Education school year runs from September 10th, 2017 through May 6, 2018 with a short recess over the Christmas holiday. It is expected that each child attend class full time.  The students for the Sacramental classes (First Eucharist and Confirmation) will meet weekly.  All other students will meet on the only one Sunday of each month in our St. Thomas More Center and will homeschool the rest of the month.

Each of the classes is taught by volunteers. In an effort to reduce the burden on our full time volunteers, parents are encouraged to participate in the classroom part time.  All volunteers are required by the Archdiocese of Washington to complete necessary paperwork.   Please contact Rebecca Ross for more details.

A small fee is assessed per child (with a sliding scale for families with more than one child registered) to cover costs associated with the running of the program. The fee is $125 for the first child, $75 for the second child, and $50 for additional children. Please contact Rev. William Gurnee at  if the registration fee is burdensome for your family.  * All parents are encouraged to donate 10 vounteer hours to the program.*

*Note: It is important to register your child(ren) for Religious Education by the 15th of August since materials that are provided for the children must be ordered and shipped. Please use the registration form to (re)enroll your child(ren).
